Today we studied “Cause and Effect”. First, the teacher gave us the handout about cause and effect. Then, she explained about cause and effect and assigned us to do exercise.

After that the teacher read “text example” and “practice” and explained discourse markers.
She searched the word on the Cambridge dictionary online.

She gave us the corrective feedback of skill practice 1. 
And then, we did “skill practice 2” in the handout. and the teacher gave the corrective feedback of skill practice 2 again. 

Next, we read “The effect of stress” and answer questions below the text. We found discourse marker of cause and effect. 

I think that the effect of stress activity was difficult because of difficult words. So I solved this problem by guessing the meaning of words and searched on dictionary. 

I think that skill practice 1 was easy.

I used discourse marker of cause and effect for finding the answers.

Comparison and contrast continued

Today we studied comparison and contrast continued last week. First I checked homework with friends. It was text 2. And then teacher searched the words. Inflict, Destruction, Fatality.

Then we read text "Men and women: Do they speak in the same language? and did the exercise. 

And now it's time to did mid-term test.

I think writing main idea of each paragraph was difficult so I tried to read carefully. And the mid-term is quite easy.

Answer: Yes, I agree with him.

2. Are any of Tennen's point about the different personality of men and women true in your native culture? Explain 

Answer: Yes, talking with men is fun while talking with women is stress.

Procedure and comparison and contrast

Today we read the story about how to use a toaster and did the exercise. Next, we opened the first page. And we studied about the purpose, types of procedural texts, text organization, and language features.

Next, the teacher showed the pictures and asked us how they are different. And we started studying “Comparison and Contrast”. It is comparing the two things or more over that are different or similar. Teacher read and explained the example. Then, we compared between the high context culture student and the low context culture student and we wrote on the diagram. We read the text 1 in the handout and did activity in this text.

Finally she assigned the homework “Men and Women: Do They Speak the Same Language?” and do the activities below the text.

I think procedure handout were easy.

I think that comparing the things and the words were difficult so I asked my friends.

I used discourse marker for comprehension the many texts.

I think this lesson is very useful in reading and doing many exams.
